The Gig Harbor Rotary Foundation was created in 1989 by the Gig Harbor Rotary club as a non-profit foundation to collect and distribute scholarship and charitable funds in the greater Gig Harbor community.  The foundation has grown to where it has over $2.6 million in assets.  The Board is elected by the Rotary club and meets the third Wednesday of each month.

Scholarship applications are due March 1st and are administered by Scholarship Management Services (CFSA).  Applicants must be attending a Gig Harbor High School or be a previous recipient of a Mildred McCall scholarship. Peninsula Schools counseling personnel can provide information and applications.

A major portion ($1.5 million) of the endowment funds were provided by the estate of Mildred E McCall who lived on Hales Passage and was a nurse anesthesiologist during WWII.  Her legacy lives on in the lives of the hundreds of Gig Harbor area youth through the fund she created.

Another major contribution of over $600,000 came from the estate of Marvin & Marie Spadoni-Natucci.  He has a commercial fisherman and the former owner of Natucci Heating and she was a nurse.  Their generousity assures educational assistance will be provided throughout the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula's
